Job Description: Yelp is seeking a dedicated Spam Comment Moderator to join our dynamic team. As a Spam Comment Moderator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our platform by ensuring that spam and inappropriate content are promptly identified and removed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Moderation: Monitor user-generated content, including reviews, comments, and messages, to identify and remove spam, fake reviews, and inappropriate content in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Uphold Yelp’s content guidelines and policies to ensure that all user-generated content meets our quality standards.
  • User Engagement: Respond to user inquiries and concerns related to content moderation in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Customer Support and Engineering, to improve moderation processes and tools.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports on moderation activities, identifying trends and insights to improve content quality.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on evolving spam and online content trends to effectively combat emerging issues.
  • Required Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies and anomalies in content.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Familiarity with online community and content moderation principles.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on guidelines.
    • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and platforms.
