Remote · USA Full-time New today

ABOUT GREENER PASTURES

  • Greener Pastures is a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to help build a more humane, sustainable, and just food system through positive visual storytelling. Learn more at togreenerpastures.org.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Greener Pastures is hiring an experienced independent contractor to provide post-production editing and visual storytelling support for professional-grade video projects.
  • This is a time-limited contract from February 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026.
  • There is potential (not guaranteed) for ongoing work beyond the contract period.

LOCATION

  • Remote.
  • Contractors must be located in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
  • Strong preference for someone based in the Twin Cities metro area or able to travel occasionally to the Twin Cities for in-person meetings as needed.
  • Any travel will be pre-approved; reimbursement handled case-by-case.

COMPENSATION AND TIME EXPECTATION

  • $2,000/month gross, paid monthly (contractor is responsible for all taxes and insurance).
  • We anticipate approximately 20–30 hours per month of post-production support.
  • This is a flat monthly retainer.
  • Editing time, meetings, and revision implementation all count toward the monthly retainer hours.
  • Work volume will vary month-to-month; we will prioritize deliverables together to stay within the monthly retainer hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit short- and mid-form documentary-style storytelling videos (social and web)
  • Edit short-form vertical videos (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) from existing footage and/or project selects
  • Color correction and color grading (appropriate to the project)
  • Audio cleanup, mixing, and leveling
  • Basic motion graphics and template-based animations (titles, lower thirds, simple text overlays) as needed
  • Captions and accessibility deliverables (accurate captioning workflow and exports)
  • On-screen text and simple “visual facts” overlays when needed
  • Export and deliver final files in required formats/specs (social, web, archive)
  • Organize projects with clean file naming, version control, and reliable handoffs
  • Collaborate through feedback and revisions with partners/clients and the GP team
  • Help build and improve SOPs and workflows in a startup-style environment (examples: post checklists, file organization standards, export presets, captioning workflow, and a repeatable feedback/revision process)
  • Occasional participation in partner meetings to solicit, receive, and implement feedback

HOW WE’LL WORK TOGETHER

  • Communication cadence: weekly 30-minute check-in during active edits, plus async feedback as needed
  • Turnaround targets (typical): first cut within 7–10 business days after receiving a complete brief and assets (timelines may vary by project scope)
  • Some projects will have tighter turnaround targets, including revision windows that may require updates within 1-3 business days. When tighter turnaround or rapid revision windows are anticipated, Greener Pastures will provide as much advance notice as possible so schedules can be planned realistically.
  • Revision structure: scope will be set per project; typically up to 2 rounds of revisions per deliverable
  • Additional revision rounds occur only if time remains in the monthly retainer or priorities are adjusted

WHAT GREENER PASTURES WILL PROVIDE

  • A project brief with goals, audience, and distribution plan
  • Brand guidance and any relevant templates (titles/lower thirds) if available
  • Footage/assets and a clear decision-maker for consolidated feedback
  • A shared workflow for review and notes (example: Frame.io, Vimeo review links, Google Drive comments, or comparable)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable working in a startup environment, including creating new SOPs and workflows as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with a small team
  • Trustworthy, dependable, deadline-oriented, and highly independent
  • English fluency (spoken and written)

SKILLS ASSESSMENT (FINALISTS)
