Marketable Investment Analyst
The University of Michigan Investment Office is seeking an investment analyst for their Marketable team to assist in managing the university's investment portfolios. The role involves conducting due diligence, investment research, and performance analysis to support the oversight of the university's financial assets.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Marketable team with Manager due diligence, which includes the initial screening of investment managers; participating in meetings with the managers; quantitative performance analysis and qualitative due diligence; and participating in internal discussions that lead to an investment recommendation
- Conduct investment research on equity, absolute return and fixed income managers and other relevant investment opportunities
- Prepare investment reports on performance, asset allocation, and risk characteristics of portfolios
- Provide support for monitoring existing managers and co-investments, performance analysis, staffing, and compliance with guidelines
- Support investment operations by resolving accounting and performance measurement issues and monitoring Marketable fund additions, withdrawals and distributions
- Some travel will be required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- An understanding of and interest in investing
- Strong quantitative and verbal skills
- A proven ability to create and use complex spreadsheets
- A demonstrated attention to detail
- A collaborative work style
- An analytical skills test (up to 2 hours allowed) will be required as part of the interview process
- Candidate's for this position must be legally authorized to work in the United States
