Contracts Specialist | Home Health | Southern California Beverly Glenn is a respected healthcare recruiter partnered with two of Southern California's largest home health agencies. Our partner agencies are licensed, Medicare-certified, and CHAP accredited, delivering exceptional in-home care throughout California. We are seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist with a strong home health background to manage and optimize payer and vendor agreements that directly support our ability to provide high-quality, individualized care to our patients.

About the Role

As a Contracts Specialist, you will own the full lifecycle of agreements with insurance payers, vendors, and independent contractors. This role sits at the intersection of legal compliance and business strategy — ensuring our agencies maintain a competitive network, maximize reimbursement, and remain fully compliant with state, federal, and HIPAA regulations. You will work closely with finance, billing, and operations teams to keep contracts accurate, current, and aligned with agency goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Negotiate reimbursement rates and contract terms with Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance, and Managed Medicaid payers to maximize revenue and support agency growth
  • Draft, review, and edit home health service agreements, contracts, and amendments to ensure compliance with state, federal, and HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor contract compliance, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions in the event of contract breaches
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract disputes, interpretation, and negotiations with external payers, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate electronic contract files across systems such as Salesforce and SharePoint, ensuring a minimum 95% accuracy rate in database representation
  • Partner with billing and finance teams to verify contract terms, analyze payer margins, and resolve discrepancies
  • Submit, renew, and terminate home health provider contracts as needed, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Conduct contract redlining to resolve differences in contract language during negotiations
  • Streamline contracting workflows and provide training and guidance to internal team members on contract administration processes
  • Respond to contract-related inquiries from operations, billing, and other internal departments

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of healthcare contracting experience with a focus on home health payer contracting or managed care; direct home health experience required
  • Deep understanding of home health reimbursement methodologies including Medicare Advantage, fee-for-service, and Prospective Payment System (PPS)
  • Familiarity with home health provider enrollment procedures and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
