VP, Business Development - Biologics (Remote, East Coast)

About the position We’re looking for a passionate and curious VP of Business Development to join our team. This VP role is responsible for growing biologics revenue opportunities through new and ongoing business development engagements and negotiations for the East Coast region in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve a defined yearly sales goal for your region by executing mutually beneficial and profitable business collaborations and partnerships that fit within the overall corporate strategy, business plan and product portfolio of Just-Evotec.
  • Represent Just-Evotec in discussions and works collaboratively with current and potential partners to develop and negotiate Statements of Work, Change Orders and Term sheets, as required.
  • Identify solutions when needed to reach agreement on key deal terms.
  • Lead business development engagements and lead meetings in industry conferences and marketing events.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional team through evaluation of opportunities and interactions with potential partners.
  • Identify, communicate and manage risks and opportunities with new and existing partnerships and strategic alliances to internal stakeholders across BD, finance and manufacturing leadership
  • Contribute to all aspects of business development and strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a scientific discipline) plus advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., M.D., J.D. and/or M.B.A.).
  • Minimum 5 years of business development experience within biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry and Pharma services space (e.g. CRO, CDMO, Discovery, Labs).
  • Proven track record of successfully executing deals from sourcing to deal close.
  • Strong understanding in biologics drug discovery, development, and manufacturing, especially a thorough understanding of the drug discovery and development paradigm across biologics modalities (mAbs, Bispecifics, Fc fragments).
  • Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time within the region
  • Strategic, creative thinker with ability to establish innovative business solutions, structures, and concepts.
  • Excellent collaborative negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with superior quantitative analytical abilities.
  • Proactive, team player with strong sense of urgency.
