Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization Support 100% remote Start Date: Within 2 weeks (ASAP) Compensation: $21/hour (no flexibility with pay) Contract Type: Long-term contract with potential for hire Equipment: Fully provided Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred Available Shifts (EST): Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Role Overview Pharmacy Technicians will work within the UMS platform and client-designated PBM and payer portals to manage pharmacy review requests. This role supports benefit verification, prior authorization processing, prescription transfers, and communication with PBMs and provider offices.

Key Responsibilities

Intake and review pharmacy requests for accuracy and completeness Submit and manage prior authorizations through payer portals Triage determinations and facilitate prescription transfers Conduct 40–50 outbound calls one day per week to gather clinical criteria and support pharmacist inquiries Review and verify drug information prior to submission Process incoming and outgoing faxes in compliance with documentation standards Approve cases based on established clinical guidelines Ideal Candidate Profile Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Experience with administrative or prior authorization pharmacy tasks Comfortable working independently and managing high-volume communication Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
