Desk Claim Representative (1099 Adjuster) – Claims

SUMMARY: This is an opportunity to work in a defined region handling residential property claims (Catastrophe &/or Daily) on a fee basis for a specific period of time. Bluegrass can offer a consistent stream of claim volume and typical bi-weekly payment. Reviews and analyzes first party homeowner’s claims to determine extent of insurance carrier’s liability, determines the extent of damaged property, and recommends settlement amounts in order to conclude claims with policyholders in accordance with policy provisions and applicable insurance statutes and laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews the loss notice, insurance policy, endorsements and related information.
  • Conducts the appropriate claim investigations.
  • Provides prompt service to all stakeholders utilizing phone, fax, mail, and electronic mail. Communicates with all customers in a professional manner consistent with company guidelines.
  • Able to write, create, and interpret estimates based on customer’s information and/or other pertinent information using Symbility estimating software.
  • Maintains file documentation, file notes, and authors comprehensive reports on each assigned claim in accordance with client company guidelines.
  • Maintains open claim inventory per company and client company guidelines.
  • Operates in accordance with applicable state statutes.
  • Maintains state(s) licensing requirement as necessary including continuing education requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of CAT/Daily property adjusting experience.
  • Insurance adjusters license(s) as applicable to the position.
  • Solid understanding of property claims handling and estimatics.
  • Ability to navigate and interpret property insurance policies.
  • Solid understanding of claims best practices policies
  • Own and maintain a functional computer with an active Symbility licensewith access to high speed internet and appropriate communications equipment.
  • Proper skill-sets, tools, and resources to effectively own your role.
  • Able to handle a reasonable claim volume, quickly and efficiently.
  • Experienced in taking recorded statements.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service skills coupled with an honest desire to help customers.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Able to pass a drug screening and background check.
