Want to join something GREAT and make a difference? The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting job opportunity within our Product Sales and Leasing Division. This Property and Acquisition Specialist 5 position implements and manages the statewide commercial real estate program, including marketing and selling or exchanging state trust lands, acquiring commercial and industrial real estate investments, and managing the assets comprising the Department’s commercial real estate portfolio. This position supports the Department’s mission by managing CRE holdings in a manner that realizes the best revenue benefit for the Trusts. Duties Responsibilities:

  • Management of commercial real estate portfolio to maximize revenue for trust beneficiaries;
  • Management of ground and improved property leases;
  • Performing a financial analysis for holdings and potential acquisition sites;
  • Negotiating and drafting lease contracts and other service contracts;
  • Locating, analyzing, and recommending acquisition parcels;
  • Providing financial analysis on proposed acquisition parcels;
  • Managing the “due diligence” process through closing;
  • Development of marketing strategies for parcels managed by the CRE Program;
  • Consulting with real estate brokers, appraisers, developers, and local government officials;
  • Preparing and overseeing bidding process of competitive contracts;
  • Evaluating and analyzing proposals and making recommendations for the award of contract.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field AND five (5) years’ experience in managing commercial buildings, negotiating complex commercial leases, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree in business/public administration. Real Property Administrator (RPA), Certified Property Manager (CPM), or other comparable industry certification.
