Our client, a premier organization dedicated to promoting health and wellness through recreational activities, is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to manage a diverse range of leisure and sports programs in Charlotte, North Carolina, US . This role is ideal for someone passionate about sports, fitness, and community engagement, who excels at planning and executing memorable events. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of event planning, from conceptualization and budgeting to on-site management and post-event analysis. This includes securing venues, coordinating vendors, managing registrations, and ensuring a positive experience for all participants. Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and execute a variety of sports tournaments, fitness workshops, community sports leagues, and recreational events. Develop detailed event plans, including schedules, budgets, staffing needs, and logistical arrangements. Source and manage relationships with vendors, sponsors, and community partners. Oversee event registration processes, participant communication, and on-site check-in. Coordinate with facility managers to ensure venues are prepared and meet event requirements. Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies for events to maximize attendance and engagement. Manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial targets are met. Provide excellent customer service to participants, volunteers, and stakeholders. Oversee on-site event operations, including setup, tear-down, and troubleshooting. Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and prepare comprehensive reports for management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Recreation, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and coordination, preferably within the leisure or sports industry. Strong understanding of sports leagues, fitness activities, and recreational programming. Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. Passion for sports, fitness, and community building. This position offers the flexibility of remote work for planning and administrative tasks, with on-site presence required for event execution.
