Somali Interpreter

As an interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between our healthcare providers and patients who speak Somali. Your fluency in both Somali and English, along with your cultural sensitivity, will help us provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Facilitate effective communication between healthcare providers and patients who speak Somali. Provide accurate interpretation services during medical appointments, procedures, and consultations. Translate medical documents and information from English to Somali and vice versa. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy laws and regulations. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness, ensuring that all patients feel respected and understood. Collaborate with other interpreters and healthcare staff to ensure consistent and high-quality interpretation services. Familiarize yourself with medical terminology and procedures to accurately convey information to patients. Keep up-to-date with any changes or updates in Somali language and terminology. Communicate with patients and healthcare providers to clarify any misunderstandings or potential cultural barriers. Document interpretation services and maintain accurate records. Participate in interpreter training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures. Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor at all times. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families. Assist with any other duties or tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
