Fleet Logistics Coordinator

Our client is seeking a dynamic and organized Fleet Logistics Coordinator to join their transportation department. This hybrid role, based in San Antonio, Texas, US , is responsible for the efficient management and coordination of company vehicles and drivers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with drivers, dispatchers, maintenance teams, and clients to optimize routes, track shipments, and resolve any logistical challenges. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency, with flexibility for remote work. Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage daily fleet operations, including dispatching drivers and assigning routes. Monitor vehicle movements and delivery progress using GPS tracking and logistics software. Communicate effectively with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and support. Optimize routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and minimize fuel consumption. Liaise with clients to confirm delivery schedules and address any inquiries or issues. Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate records of fleet operations, including mileage, fuel consumption, and driver performance. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies. Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new drivers. Process and reconcile invoices related to fuel, maintenance, and other fleet expenses. Identify opportunities for process improvements within fleet logistics. Respond to and resolve any urgent issues or emergencies related to fleet operations. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or fleet management. Proven experience with dispatching and route optimization software. Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in a hybrid environment is beneficial. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures is an advantage. Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions.
