Discovery & Doc Review Attorney (Contract Position - Consistent Work)
Laukaitis Law is seeking a Discovery & Doc Review Attorney to join our fast-growing federal-court plaintiff’s class action practice. This is a Contract position on a case-by-case basis. We are seeking an experienced attorney to assist with document review, issue spotting, and litigation support in federal class action matters nationwide. We are looking for someone who understands plaintiff litigation strategy, can identify important documents and themes, and can operate independently in a remote, fast-paced environment. Our firm focuses on:
- Data breach and privacy litigation
- Consumer protection class actions
- Product defect and recall litigation
- Federal complex litigation
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze documents for relevance, privilege, and key factual issues
- Identify “hot docs” and important litigation themes
- Assist with discovery review and organization
- Prepare concise summaries and chronologies when needed
- Flag issues related to class certification, damages, notice, arbitration provisions, and internal company knowledge
- Collaborate with attorneys through slack and email
- Help negotiate ESI protocols and keyword searches
- Assist with written and possibly oral discovery, as well
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active U.S. bar license in good standing
- Prior plaintiff-side class action experience strongly preferred
- MUST HAVE Experience with federal litigation and discovery practice
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with consumer protection class actions
- Deposition experience is a plus
- Written federal court discovery and deficiency letters
- Familiarity with Relativity or similar review platforms
- Ability to identify strategically important documents, not just perform coding review
