Director, Data & Content Partnerships

Remote · USA Full-time New today

POSITION SUMMARY Veritone is seeking a visionary executive to help build and scale the global supply side of our AI and data ecosystem. This role is responsible for acquiring, structuring, and retaining premium, rights-cleared supply across over two dozen industry verticals. You will ensure Veritone maintains durable sell-side liquidity to power our AI products, data monetization and next-generation model training workflows. This leader operates at the critical intersection of data acquisition, content licensing, and marketplace strategy, building the long-term "supply moats" that differentiate Veritone's AI platform from commodity competitors. WHAT YOU'LL DO 1. Supply & Data Acquisition (Primary Accountability)

  • Own the global strategy for acquiring premium multimodal content (video, audio, text, and metadata) suitable for AI training, inference, and commercial monetization.
  • Secure exclusive or preferred supply agreements
  • Design scalable acquisition frameworks that move beyond one-off deals into programmatic onboarding of massive datasets.
  • Ensure all supply is "AI-Ready"-fully rights-cleared, governed, and compliant with global privacy and licensing constraints.

2. Marketplace & Liquidity Strategy

  • Act as a participant of sell-side liquidity across Veritone's data and AI marketplaces.
  • Define and optimize incentive models
  • Balance supply depth and quality against downstream demand from customers
  • Track and optimize liquidity KPIs: active suppliers, inventory depth, utilization, and yield.

3. Strategic Partnerships & Anchor Supply

  • Lead negotiations for anchor supply partnerships that materially expand Veritone's data footprint and strategic relevance.
  • Structure partnerships that function as long-term strategic assets, not merely transactional deals.

4. Product, AI & Governance Alignment

  • Work cross-functionally with Product, AI, and Engineering to ensure acquired supply is modular, metadata-rich, and aligned with emerging model architectures.
  • Rights Transparency: Establish frameworks for auditability and usage enforcement across training, fine-tuning, and inference.
  • Partner with Legal to minimize IP risk while maximizing monetization flexibility for our customers.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED Experience

  • 6-8 years in data, content, marketplace, or platform businesses.
  • Leadership experience owning supply-side acquisition or global partnerships for a major technology or media firm.
  • Proven track record of negotiating complex, high-value licensing or data agreements ($2M+).
  • Experience operating within two-sided marketplaces or large-scale data ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with content rights management is strongly preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Marketplace Architect: Deep understanding of sell-side economics and how to drive liquidity in a data-rich environment.
  • Executive Negotiator: Mastery in navigating C-suite relationships with Fortune 500s, global sports leagues, and public entities.
  • Strategic Visionary: Ability to translate abstract AI/Data trends into executable supply deals that create a competitive advantage.
  • Operational Rigor: Capable of building the systems and processes to manage 100K+ hours of content ingestion and licensing.
