Emphasizes listening comprehension development and connects Vietnamese language to cultural traditions, family values, and contemporary Vietnamese society.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Vietnamese language curricula and common challenges such as mastering six‑tone pronunciation, understanding classifier usage, and adjusting to topic‑prominent sentence structure. Adapts instruction using tone drills, authentic Vietnamese media, and conversational practice to support heritage speakers refining literacy skills and non‑heritage learners building proficiency from beginning levels.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
