Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HUD Compliance Specialist / LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) Compliance Specialist to join our team of Analysts. This REMOTE role will ensure our client's property operations adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. In this vital role, you will oversee compliance with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines and LIHTC program requirements, safeguarding the integrity of our affordable housing client's initiatives. Your expertise during both on-site & remote audits will help maintain regulatory standards, support residents’ needs, and promote a transparent, compliant housing environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the affordable housing sector while working with a passionate team committed to social responsibility and excellence. Currently a Contract role, there is potential for full time employment for the right candidate. All on-site audits include full reimbursement of all associated expenses. Per diem allowance for any on-site work. Candidates possessing any of the following are preferred, but not mandatory: HCCP, TCS, COS, CPO, CP3, HOTMA Certified. Duties

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with HUD regulations, including Fair Housing laws and Section 8 voucher programs, ensuring all property operations meet federal standard, through on-site, and remote file reviews and property audits.
  • Administer LIHTC compliance protocols, including income certification, rent calculations, and annual recertifications to maximize program integrity.
  • Conduct audits of property files and resident documentation to verify adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to resolve compliance issues swiftly through requested revisions.
  • Utilize a digitally encrypted portal to manage files and stored documents.
  • Stay current on updates to HUD policies, LIHTC regulations, and fair housing laws to ensure ongoing compliance across all properties.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with LIHTC programs, HUD regulations, or related affordable housing compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 voucher programs, and property management practices, TSP & Waiting List adherence.
  • Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge, and full understanding of protocols and compliance regulations surrounding EIV & TRACS
  • Effective communication skills for training staff on compliance issues and conducting resident interactions using motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Ability to review both Recertifications and Initial Certification files for compliance irregularities.
  • Minimum 8 years in the HUD/LIHTC Affordable Space.
  • Must possess valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $83,200.00 per year Benefits:

  • Mileage reimbursement
