Part-Time STEM Tutor
About the position Tutor Doctor North Jersey has been proudly serving students and families in the Ridgewood area and surrounding communities for over 15 years. We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and reliable STEM tutor to join our experienced team in the Ridgewood area. In this role you will work one-on-one with students in their homes, providing personalized support in math and science subjects across a range of grade levels.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized one-on-one in-home tutoring sessions to students in the Ridgewood, NJ area and surrounding communities
- Support students across a range of STEM subjects including but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Tailor each session to the student's individual learning style, pace, and academic goals
- Support students with executive functioning skills such as study habits, time management, and organization alongside academic content
- Submit a brief session report after each session to track progress and keep families informed
- Maintain a consistent weekly schedule and communicate proactively with our coordination team
- Build a positive, encouraging, and trust-based relationship with your student and their family
Requirements
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more STEM areas
- Previous tutoring, teaching, or academic mentoring experience required
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to a consistent weekly schedule
- Patient, adaptable, and able to connect with students of varying skill levels and learning styles
- Comfortable working in a home environment and communicating professionally with parents
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to student homes in the Ridgewood area and surrounding communities
- Must be able to pass a background check

- Degree in a STEM field or related area strongly preferred
