Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented Mid-Level .NET Developer. Do you have experience integrating Power BI Embedded solutions within modern .NET applications? What You Will Be Doing: This is a mid-level .NET developer role focused on owning and modernizing an application layer that surfaces critical Power BI reporting from a Databricks platform to authenticated users via a web portal. This position works alongside an established enterprise IT and engineering team. You will be responsible for the portal’s .NET application layer—specifically handling authentication and authorization, Power BI Embedded integration, report routing, and day-to-day feature enhancements. This position suits a developer who is solid on .NET fundamentals, has explicit hands-on production experience with Power BI Embedded (beyond typical report consumption), and is comfortable working in a highly secure, enterprise-level compliance environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and continuously improve the existing .NET-based reporting portal that delivers Power BI reports to users.
- Implement and support Power BI Embedded integration, including token management, report rendering, security pass-through, and capacity considerations.
- Collaborate with IT to configure authentication via Azure AD and enforce security best practices such as role-based access control and audit logging.
- Enhance portal usability through navigation improvements, search capabilities, responsiveness, and accessibility features.
- Standardize onboarding processes for new Power BI reports to ensure quick and consistent deployment.
- Support production environments by triaging user issues and coordinating with data and infrastructure teams for resolution.
- Document the portal’s architecture, deployment procedures, and operational runbook for ongoing support and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4–7+ years of software engineering experience with .NET, comfortable owning features independently.
- Current experience developing in ASP.NET Core and .NET 6+/.NET 8+ with experience shipping production code.
- Proficiency in C#, EF Core or similar ORM, REST API design, dependency injection, configuration management, and observability fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience deploying and debugging Azure-hosted .NET applications, such as on App Service.
- Practical experience with Power BI Embedded, including embedding tokens, working with Power BI REST API, JavaScript SDK, and managing report security pass-through at runtime.
- Knowledge of Power BI workspaces, datasets, dataflows, and report performance considerations.
- Proven track record implementing authentication and authorization flows such as OIDC/OAuth 2.0, claims-based, and role-based access control in .NET applications.
- Experience integrating applications with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Comfort partnering with enterprise IT teams on security and compliance, especially regarding HIPAA and healthcare data handling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and stakeholder engagement.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Healthcare, academic medicine, or higher education software experience.
- Direct experience with Databricks data platform.
- Power BI Desktop authoring skills for better collaboration with report developers.
- Experience with multi-tenant or workspace-aware reporting portals.
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards in web applications.
- Previous engagement with academic medical centers or similar institutions.
