About the Role We are currently seeking a QA Automation Engineer who possesses the capability to design effective test coverage for RS Brain, our backend-centric system that automates essential workflows for RestaurantSupply.com's three Shopify stores. This position is particularly suited for an individual who can validate both user-facing functionality and backend accuracy through APIs, logs, databases, queues, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

Design clear and maintainable test plans and regression suites. Develop automated tests utilizing Playwright or comparable frameworks. Conduct testing on APIs, backend workflows, asynchronous jobs, integrations, and frontend processes. Validate correctness through UI checks, API responses, logs, database records, and command-line tools. Identify edge cases, race conditions, data inconsistencies, and performance-related risks. Collaborate with engineers to define acceptance criteria and enhance testability. Employ AI tools to assist in generating test scenarios, automating repetitive QA tasks, and analyzing failures. Report bugs with precision, including reproduction steps, expected behavior, actual behavior, and supporting evidence. Required Skills Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation tools. Proficient in writing structured test cases and regression plans. Experience in testing APIs and backend systems. Familiarity with logs, databases, command-line tools, and asynchronous/background workflows. Basic scripting skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, PHP, or similar languages. Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. Experience utilizing AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar. Excellent written communication skills. Preferred Skills Experience with Playwright using TypeScript. Background in backend integration testing. Familiarity with SQL. Experience with CI/CD test pipelines. Exposure to performance, load, or reliability testing. Apply To This Job
