This is a remote position with a regional focus. This position supports customers in Los Angeles, CA and surrounding areas. While the role primarily supports working from home, the individual performing this role would live within or adjacent to this region. Staples is business to business. You're what binds us together. As a B2B Sales Consultant, you’ll play a critical role in driving new business growth by prospecting, engaging, and winning small to medium-sized customers within your territory. This is a high-velocity, results-driven sales role where you’ll leverage digital tools, strong selling skills, and a customer-first approach to build lasting relationships and deliver tailored solutions. What you’ll be doing: Prospect and win new small-to-medium business customers within a defined territory Build and manage a robust pipeline through proactive outreach using phone, video, face-to-face meetings, and digital tools Set and conduct appointments with key decision-makers to uncover business needs and position solutions Apply consultative selling techniques to identify opportunities and recommend customized product and service solutions Effectively communicate Staples’ value proposition across product categories and services Utilize CRM and sales tools (e.g., SFDC, Tenfold, prioritized call lists) to optimize productivity and track activity Collaborate with internal partners, including customer support and category specialists, to close deals and ensure successful onboarding Onboard and ramp newly won accounts to drive adoption, retention, and long-term growth Analyze customer industries and buying processes to deliver insights and tailored solutions Continuously refine your sales approach based on feedback and market trends What you bring to the table: Strong drive to win and consistently exceed sales goals Resilience and ability to turn rejection into learning opportunities Proven business development experience with a track record of success Excellent presentation and communication skills, both virtual and in person Expertise in consultative and solution-based selling, negotiation, and client management Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to understand customer needs Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Analytical mindset to assess trends and develop customized solutions Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision Highly organized with strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment What’s needed- Basic Qualifications 1–3 years of successful sales experience or prior success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop, and close sales opportunities Experience working in a goal-oriented or competitive sales environment Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) Ability to be coached and apply feedback to improve performance Professional communication skills and customer-facing presence What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) Industry knowledge within B2B sales environments We Offer: Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups Flexible PTO (22 days) and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays) 112 Hours of PTO and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays + 1 floating holiday) Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more!
