Licensed Florida Professional Engineer (PE) - Corporate Qualifying Agent/Technical Partner

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Overview

Kaibyo Engineering is a dynamic product design and manufacturing consultancy startup specializing in 3D CAD modeling, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, and turn-key manufacturing pipelines for small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) and innovators. We bridge the gap between initial concept and mass production. As we expand our commercial pipeline, we are seeking an experienced, licensed Florida Professional Engineer (PE) to partner with our firm as our primary corporate Qualifying Agent. We are looking for a licensed Florida PE to formally qualify our business entity with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE). This is an exceptional, low-overhead opportunity for an established independent consultant, semi-retired engineer, or senior professional looking to earn reliable recurring income or a stake in a growing product engineering pipeline. Rather than a full-time office role, this position is designed to be highly flexible, utilizing a remote, project-by-project review structure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Qualification: Serve as the primary Qualifying Agent to register the company on the FBPE Engineering Business Registry.
  • Technical Oversight: Maintain "Responsible Charge" over the firm’s engineering outputs by providing high-level review and quality control for mechanical designs, technical analyses, and manufacturing blueprints.
  • Consultation & Verification: Review CAD models, simulations, or prototypes when projects require a formal engineering sign-off or compliance verification.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Act as an occasional technical advisor on complex turn-key manufacturing layouts and large-scale client proposals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Licensure: Must hold an active, valid, and unblemished license as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida.
  • Discipline: Mechanical Engineering background strongly preferred; experience in product development, manufacturing, or consumer goods is highly valued.
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical design principles, structural/thermal analysis, materials science, and manufacturing tolerances.
  • Compliance: Complete familiarity with Florida Statutes Chapter 471 and FBPE rules regarding corporate qualification and engineering practice.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset to interface smoothly with our internal design team.

Compensation & Benefits (Hybrid Scale Structure): To protect our early-stage growth while rewarding your liability and time, we utilize a tiered, performance-scaled compensation model:

  • Base Monthly Retainer: A modest, fixed monthly retainer to compensate for active corporate registration, regulatory compliance maintaining, and basic availability.
  • Tiered Project Fees: Compensation scales dynamically based on the volume and value of the work we secure. Small, isolated design tasks or 3D models require minimal oversight and carry a low flat-rate review fee.
  • Percentage-Based Scale (High-Value Jobs): For larger, complex, or turn-key manufacturing projects, compensation shifts to an agreed-upon percentage of the project contract or a dedicated hourly review rate, directly matching your compensation to the value and scope of the incoming business.

The Selection Process: Please note that our onboarding process will not look like a traditional corporate job interview. Because this is a flexible, specialized oversight and advisory role rather than a standard 9-to-5 position, we approach this as a peer-to-peer business consultation. Our initial meeting will simply be an open conversation to align on expectations, discuss your engineering background, and explore how we can structure a mutually beneficial partnership. We view this role not just as a compliance check, but as an opportunity for high-level technical oversight and mentorship as we scale our design pipeline. If you are looking to apply your years of engineering wisdom to exciting new product designs without the corporate red tape, we'd love to start a conversation. Pay: Up to $2,000.00 per month People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Work Location: Remote Apply To This Job
