Associate Strategy Officer, Foundation Strategy Office
Gates Foundation is the largest nonprofit focused on combating poverty, disease, and inequity globally. As an Associate Strategy Officer, you will support critical strategy projects by conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses, synthesizing insights, and managing client relationships to develop and launch new foundation strategies and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Employ strategic resources to develop and assess options, ensure sound reasoning, and challenge assumptions
- Liaise closely with internal clients to co-develop and test strategy concepts and facilitate organizational change
- Support the implementation of creative solutions to guide strategic decisions, team operations, and ways of working
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of research and analytical methodologies to support decision-making
- Support (Sr.) Strategy Officers with the day-to-day ownership of the strategic process and mobilization of discrete bodies of work
- Regularly contribute to team development “extra 10s”, such as team vision and goal refinement, professional development, training, recruiting, onboarding, team social events, retreats, foundation-wide activities, etc
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in strategic planning and consulting
- Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
- Deep knowledge of and strengths in strategy development and end-to-end sophisticated project management
- Optimally work with sensitivity across barriers such as language, culture, and distance
- Software skills with Microsoft Office applications, including a proven track record to convey information using supporting tables, graphs, and other visual representations
- Knowledge and proficiency in Excel, Stata, or similar
- Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
- Must have unrestricted work authorization in the country where this position is located
