Our risk management philosophy is built on scientific rigor, transparent communication, and a collaborative spirit that empowers every employee to influence the future of the business. As part of arenaflex’s expanding risk analytics team, you will help shape the strategic direction of the company by turning complex data into actionable insights that protect our assets, reputation, and growth trajectory.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s fast‑moving digital landscape, risk is not a static concept—it evolves with every new product launch, partnership, and technology adoption. arenaflex’s Risk Analytics & Security team is tasked with developing a forward‑looking risk framework that blends quantitative modeling, statistical analysis, and real‑time monitoring. As a Security Risk Engineer (L4) & Data Analyst, you will be at the heart of this effort, driving the creation of risk metrics, building predictive models, and delivering clear, data‑rich narratives to senior leadership. Your work will directly influence how arenaflex allocates resources, prioritizes security initiatives, and safeguards its critical infrastructure.

Role Overview

This is a full‑time, remote position based in California, USA, offering a competitive hourly rate of $27. You will work an 8‑hour day, collaborating with cross‑functional teams across product, engineering, compliance, and executive leadership. The role blends technical data analysis, risk engineering, and strategic communication, providing a unique opportunity to develop deep expertise in both security risk management and advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Modeling & Quantification: Design, implement, and maintain quantitative risk models (e.g., FAIR, Monte‑Carlo simulations) that translate complex security scenarios into understandable risk scores.
  • Data Collection & Cleansing: Own the end‑to‑end data pipeline—from extraction and transformation to validation—ensuring high‑quality data feeds for risk analysis.
  • Analytics & Insight Generation: Conduct exploratory data analysis, statistical testing, and predictive modeling using R, Python, and SQL to uncover hidden risk patterns.
  • Executive Reporting: Produce concise, visually compelling risk dashboards and presentations that enable senior leaders to make informed, data‑driven decisions.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Partner with product, engineering, compliance, and legal teams to embed risk considerations into the product lifecycle and operational processes.
  • Control Framework Development: Contribute to the evolution of arenaflex’s security control framework by identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and tracking implementation progress.
  • Incident Scenario Planning: Develop and simulate “what‑if” scenarios to assess the impact of potential security incidents on business continuity and brand reputation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices in risk analytics, stay current with emerging threats, and proactively suggest process refinements.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Guide junior analysts, share expertise on statistical tools, and foster a culture of data literacy across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in risk analysis, data analytics, or security engineering.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R or Python, and strong command of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Hands‑on experience with risk modeling frameworks (e.g., FAIR) and simulation tools (e.g., Monte‑Carlo).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical findings into clear business recommendations for non‑technical audiences.
  • Solid understanding of information security concepts, vulnerability assessment, and incident response processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing executive‑level reports.
  • Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for solving ambiguous problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Familiarity with cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
  • Knowledge of machine‑learning techniques for anomaly detection and predictive risk scoring.
  • Prior exposure to large‑scale streaming or media‑delivery environments.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to design robust statistical experiments, interpret results, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of data‑analysis tools (R, Python, SQL) and familiarity with risk‑assessment software (e.g., RiskLens, Palisade).
  • Strategic Thinking: Understanding of how risk metrics influence business strategy, investment decisions, and product roadmaps.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience working in cross‑functional teams, influencing without authority, and building consensus.
  • Communication: Ability to craft compelling narratives, create clear visualizations, and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Adaptability: Comfort navigating a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Integrity & Ethics: Commitment to confidentiality, data privacy, and ethical handling of sensitive information.

arenaflex invests heavily in employee development. In this role, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior risk engineers and data scientists.
  • Sponsored certifications and advanced coursework in security, data science, and risk management.
  • Opportunities to lead high‑visibility projects that directly impact the company’s risk posture.
  • Cross‑departmental rotations that broaden your understanding of product, engineering, and compliance functions.
  • Participation in internal hackathons and innovation challenges focused on security and analytics.
