With a strong focus on research‑driven product development, arenaflex empowers millions of users worldwide to interact with digital content in ways that feel natural, intuitive, and transformative. As part of our rapidly expanding Video Engineering division, you will join a collaborative community of engineers, scientists, and designers who are passionate about turning complex data into meaningful, real‑world impact.

Why This Role Matters

Our Spatial Insight Group (SPT) is at the heart of arenaflex’s next generation of AR/VR products. From pioneering 3D perception algorithms to enhancing real‑time video analytics, the work you do will directly influence the performance of flagship devices that leverage advanced sensors such as LiDAR, depth cameras, and high‑resolution imaging arrays. If you thrive on solving challenging problems, building robust ML pipelines, and delivering data‑driven insights that shape product strategy, this is the perfect opportunity to accelerate your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable machine‑learning models for computer vision tasks, including object detection, segmentation, and 3D reconstruction.
  • Develop end‑to‑end data pipelines that ingest, clean, and transform massive video and sensor datasets, ensuring data quality and reproducibility.
  • Conduct deep exploratory analysis to uncover hidden patterns, trends, and anomalies within large‑scale visual data streams.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—AI research, cloud infrastructure, product management, and UX design—to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Build and maintain automated model evaluation frameworks that benchmark performance against industry standards and internal baselines.
  • Generate clear, data‑rich visualizations and executive‑level presentations that communicate findings to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement by iterating on model architectures, hyper‑parameter tuning, and feature engineering based on real‑world feedback.
  • Lead quantitative research to assess the impact of new sensor technologies (e.g., LiDAR, depth sensing) on algorithmic accuracy and latency.
  • Provide mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by actively researching emerging techniques in deep learning, computer vision, and AR/VR pipelines.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing and deploying machine‑learning models in production environments.
  • Proficiency with Python and core ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
  • Hands‑on experience with computer‑vision frameworks (OpenCV, Detectron2, MMDetection) and 3D data processing tools.
  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, unstructured video datasets and sensor streams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) focused on machine learning, computer vision, or robotics.
  • Experience with AR/VR development platforms (Unity, Unreal Engine) and real‑time inference optimization.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) for large‑scale data processing and model deployment.
  • Knowledge of edge‑computing constraints and techniques for model compression (quantization, pruning, knowledge distillation).
  • Publications in top‑tier conferences (CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR) or contributions to open‑source ML projects.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical mindset: Ability to dissect complex problems, formulate hypotheses, and validate solutions with data.
  • Programming excellence: Clean, maintainable code with version control (Git) and CI/CD best practices.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience working in multidisciplinary teams, respecting diverse perspectives.
  • Innovation: Curiosity to explore novel algorithms and a willingness to experiment beyond the status quo.
  • Project management: Skill in prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and delivering high‑quality results under pressure.
