About arenaflex

arenaflex is a pioneering force in the artificial intelligence landscape, dedicated to building safe, reliable, and universally beneficial AI systems. Our mission is to ensure that the transformative power of AI is harnessed for the greater good of humanity, fostering inclusive growth, ethical stewardship, and groundbreaking innovation. With a global footprint and a culture that celebrates curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning, arenaflex offers a dynamic environment where emerging talent can thrive alongside world‑class researchers, engineers, and product leaders.

Why This Role Matters

As an Entry‑Level Data Scientist – Product Analytics on arenaflex’s Product Development team, you will be at the heart of data‑driven decision making. You will help shape the metrics that guide product strategy, design rigorous experiments, and build dashboards that empower every stakeholder—from engineers to senior executives—to answer critical product questions quickly and confidently. This role is a unique launchpad for anyone passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights that drive real‑world impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to identify high‑impact analytical problems and translate them into clear, measurable objectives.
  • Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests that evaluate the effect of model updates, user‑experience changes, and new feature releases on key performance indicators.
  • Define, track, and operationalize product‑level, feature‑level, and company‑wide metrics that align with arenaflex’s strategic north‑star goals.
  • Develop and maintain self‑serve dashboards, automated reports, and data visualizations that enable cross‑functional teams to explore product data without needing deep technical assistance.
  • Write clean, efficient SQL queries and Python scripts to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from our data warehouse and experimentation platform.
  • Present findings and actionable recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences, ensuring clarity, relevance, and impact.
  • Collaborate with research scientists to incorporate insights from large language models, natural language processing (NLP), and generative AI into product analytics pipelines.
  • Continuously improve the rigor and reproducibility of analytical workflows, documenting methodologies and maintaining version control for all code and analyses.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a quantitative role that involved deep analytical work in high‑uncertainty environments—such as a data analyst, research associate, or junior data scientist at a fast‑growing tech company or research institute.
  • Proven ability to design, execute, and interpret rigorous experiments (A/B testing) and to translate results into product recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, statsmodels) for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Experience building and operationalizing new product and feature metrics from scratch, without pre‑existing templates.
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated track record of influencing product managers, engineers, and senior leadership through data‑driven storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with natural language processing (NLP), large language models, or generative AI technologies.
  • Solid programming foundation beyond Python—experience with R, Scala, or Java is a plus.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods (e.g., user interviews, surveys, UX research) and the ability to blend quantitative and qualitative insights.
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques such as hierarchical models, Bayesian inference, or causal inference frameworks.
  • Experience with modern data‑visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) and dashboarding platforms.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with distributed teams across time zones.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Rigor: A meticulous approach to data quality, statistical validity, and reproducibility.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: Ability to break down ambiguous business problems into clear analytical tasks.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust and open communication with cross‑functional partners.
  • Curiosity & Learning: Eagerness to stay current with emerging AI research, data‑science methodologies, and industry best practices.

  • Sponsored attendance at industry conferences, webinars, and technical meetups.
  • Opportunities to transition into specialized roles—such as Machine Learning Engineer, Product Analytics Lead, or Research Scientist—based on your interests and performance.
  • Internal mobility programs that allow you to explore different product lines, from conversational AI to enterprise analytics tools.
