Position Overview

Cargo Operations Specialists at arenaflex are scheduled to work shifts ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility required across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work is physically engaging and involves a combination of indoor warehouse duties and outdoor ramp operations in all weather conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include bending, stooping, twisting, standing, and walking for extended periods, as well as repetitive tasks such as loading, unloading, and transporting cargo and mail to and from aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate ground support equipment safely and competently, including tugs, forklifts, baggage carts, and tow tractors in both routine operations and congested ramp areas.
  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport mail, baggage, and cargo to and from aircraft while ensuring on-time shipment delivery.
  • Protect cargo and mail from damage, loss, theft, and exposure to inclement weather at all times.
  • Operate handheld scanners, computers, and routing systems to ensure mail and cargo are accurately tracked and dispatched to the correct destination.
  • Consistently load shipments onto carts and verify that each piece of cargo reaches its intended flight or destination.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational procedures and decision-making, particularly when working under time constraints or in high-pressure situations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to all federal regulations, company policies, and airport security requirements, including customs seal protocols and badge access procedures.
  • Wear all required company-approved personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear, and high-visibility safety apparel.
  • Complete all assigned training modules, including incremental training for specialized procedures, equipment, and product handling as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in the warehouse and on the ramp.

Minimum Qualifications – What You Need to Succeed

To be considered for the Cargo Operations Specialist role at arenaflex, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency certificate.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Equipment Operation: Must be capable of safely driving and operating a forklift, baggage tug, and tow tractor.
  • Language Skills: Must be proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to understand and follow specific job commands.
  • Communication: Must demonstrate excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional Image: Must consistently project a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Technical Skills: Must possess basic computer skills for scanning, data entry, and routing operations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently lift bags or items weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule that includes afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions.
  • Environmental Tolerance: Capable of working in various climates, both outside on the ramp and inside the warehouse facility.
  • Drug Screening: Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
  • Physical Ability Test: Must pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT) to demonstrate the physical capacity required for the role.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport badge with customs seal clearance.
  • Background Check: Must pass an extensive post-offer, pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check as required by federal law.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Vaccination Policy: Where required by applicable law, must have obtained or be willing to obtain the COVID-19 vaccination by the date of hire (subject to accommodation considerations).
