Position Overview

We are seeking a Part‑Time Remote Data Analyst to support the Music & Media Insights group. In this role, you will act as a data examination partner to cross‑functional teams, delivering analytical solutions that inform product development, marketing strategy, and user experience across arenaflex’s music streaming platforms, social media channels, and emerging AI‑driven services. This position is fully remote, offering flexible hours (approximately 8 hours per week) and a competitive rate of $23 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Acquisition & Management: Gather, clean, and curate large, high‑volume datasets from diverse sources using tools such as PySpark, Python, and advanced SQL.
  • Pipeline Development: Build automated, scalable, and repeatable data pipelines on modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery) to support ongoing analytics initiatives.
  • Advanced Analytics: Apply sophisticated techniques—including statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI—to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities within social and streaming data.
  • Metric Definition & Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs), develop dashboards, and produce concise, data‑driven stories that communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to translate business questions into analytical solutions, ensuring data integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Research & Innovation: Lead exploratory research projects, prototype new analytical methods, and stay abreast of emerging technologies in the music and media space.
  • Documentation & Quality Assurance: Document data schemas, pipeline architectures, and analytical methodologies; conduct rigorous QA testing to maintain high data quality standards.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on analytical experience or an equivalent blend of education and work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field).
  • Proficiency with data‑preparation tools such as PySpark, Python, R, and SQL.
  • Solid understanding of both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Experience with machine‑learning frameworks (e.g., scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and statistical modeling.
  • Hands‑on experience building data pipelines in Databricks, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
  • Background in music, media, or entertainment analytics, including familiarity with streaming metrics (plays, skips, dwell time) and social‑media engagement data.
  • Knowledge of real‑time music platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube) and social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, etc.) is a plus.
  • Passion for music and a curiosity about how emerging technologies (AI assistants, voice interfaces) are reshaping the entertainment landscape.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and propose data‑driven solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in Python/SQL; familiarity with big‑data ecosystems and cloud‑based data warehouses.
  • Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that turn raw numbers into strategic recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with cross‑functional teams, respecting diverse perspectives and fostering a shared sense of purpose.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a rapidly evolving industry, quickly learning new tools, platforms, and domain knowledge.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all analytical deliverables.
