Join arenaflex – Empower Communities Through Compassionate Service

arenaflex is a leading organization dedicated to improving health outcomes and access to care for underserved populations across New York State. Our mission-driven team works hand‑in‑hand with public agencies, community‑based organizations, and health providers to ensure that individuals and families can navigate complex Medicaid and public health programs with confidence. As a remote‑first employer, arenaflex embraces flexibility, innovation, and a culture of continuous learning, offering you the chance to make a tangible difference from the comfort of your home while collaborating with a supportive network of professionals.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s rapidly evolving health‑care landscape, the ability to connect people with the right resources is more critical than ever. As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be the frontline ambassador for Medicaid enrollment, helping clients understand their options, complete necessary paperwork, and stay informed about program changes. Your work will directly influence the health and financial stability of thousands of New Yorkers, making you an essential part of a larger effort to close gaps in health equity.

Position Overview

This is a six‑month, remote contract position offering an hourly rate of $18‑$21. You will work closely with the Field Operations Manager, the HPA/Special Project Unit, and a diverse set of community partners. The role blends direct client interaction, meticulous data management, and collaborative problem‑solving, requiring a balance of empathy, technical proficiency, and organizational agility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Outreach & Enrollment: Conduct face‑to‑face outreach at Medicaid offices, provider sites, and community‑based organizations to educate clients on managed‑care options and public health programs.
  • Client Guidance: Assist clients through the enrollment and disenrollment processes, ensuring they understand each step and feel supported throughout.
  • Form Management: Receive, sort, and process enrollment, transfer, and disenrollment forms; review each submission for accuracy and completeness.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Interface professionally with HRA or LDSS county staff, maintaining positive relationships with agency personnel, community groups, and clients.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Keep current on the New York Medicaid CHOICE Project, including policy updates, eligibility criteria, and program enhancements.
  • Issue Escalation: Identify and raise concerns or problems to the Field Operations Manager promptly, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Data Entry & Reporting: Perform daily data entry tasks, generate and submit accurate reports, and assist with quality reviews of data entry work.
  • Training Support: Provide refresher training on data entry procedures when needed, sharing best practices with peers.
  • Special Project Assistance: Support the HPA/Special Project Unit with enrollment corrections, pending matches, error selection, and ADV data entry as required.
  • Performance Standards: Meet all standards outlined in the annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive mindset.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering presentations to groups, showcasing strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Solid computer literacy and comfort with data‑entry platforms.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members, agency staff, and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • College degree or equivalent coursework (preferred).
  • Two or more years of experience in human services, public health, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working directly with the public, especially in enrollment or outreach capacities.
  • Fluency in commonly spoken languages (Spanish, Chinese, Haitian Creole, etc.)—bilingual candidates may be prioritized for certain locations.
  • Familiarity with New York Medicaid programs, HRA, or LDSS processes is a distinct advantage.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Communication: Clear, concise, and compassionate written and oral communication; ability to translate complex policy language into understandable terms for clients.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to review forms for accuracy, spot inconsistencies, and resolve data discrepancies efficiently.
  • Team Orientation: Collaborative mindset, willing to share knowledge, mentor peers, and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Self‑Management: Strong self‑discipline to thrive in a remote setting, including reliable internet connectivity and a dedicated workspace.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with evolving regulations, technology updates, and shifting project priorities.
  • Customer‑Centric Focus: Commitment to delivering exceptional service, ensuring each client feels heard, respected, and supported.

  • Opportunities to participate in cross‑functional projects that broaden your skill set and visibility within the organization.
  • Certification support for relevant credentials such as Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW).
