Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Pharmacy Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of important duties that directly support patient care and operational excellence. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Patient Information Management: Perform accurate information passage and patient enrollment in compliance with state and government guidelines. Process new patient registrations by entering data into appropriate systems following arenaflex protocols and procedures.
  • Prescription Processing: Handle patient medication requests while strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations. Enter refill orders for processing and ensure all data entries meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Data Verification and Problem Resolution: Investigate and obtain missing prescription information as needed. Interpret medical abbreviations, including SIG codes, and resolve all data entry-related exceptions with precision and care.
  • Customer Communication: Manage correspondence with patients through multiple channels including inbound calls, live chats, and emails. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients when necessary to clarify information, confirm details, or provide updates.
  • Third-Party Resolution: Resolve third-party exceptions by reviewing cases, gathering required information, making appropriate corrections, and resubmitting claims for processing according to individual plan requirements. Make phone calls to insurers and other parties to obtain information, secure override approvals, or otherwise resolve third-party issues efficiently.
  • Pharmacist Support: Provide administrative and technical assistance to pharmacists, both within the facility and across multiple locations. Identify and escalate complex issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
  • Compliance and Licensing: Obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain an active license or certification throughout your tenure at arenaflex.
  • System Navigation: Utilize arenaflex pharmacy systems to obtain patient and medication data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times. Duties may vary based on the department to which you are assigned.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Educational Background: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Fundamental computer literacy including the ability to start and shut down a computer, use a mouse to point and click, launch and close programs, switch between applications, save files, print reports, and access information online.
  • Web Navigation Proficiency: Basic web search skills including opening a browser, typing URLs in the correct location, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating back, forward, and stop buttons, and completing online forms.
  • Typing Skills: Intermediate keyboarding skills with a minimum of 25 WPM, including the ability to type by memory and format documents.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with patients, prescribers, and team members.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will significantly enhance your candidacy:

  • Pharmacy Experience: At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • Advanced Certification: A minimum of 18 months of experience as a pharmacy technician with certification or registration from a state Board of Pharmacy or nationally recognized certification body.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Experience providing customer service to both internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced Typing Skills: Mid to upper-level keyboarding skills of at least 35 WPM, with proficiency in typing by memory and formatting documents.
  • Bilingual Abilities: Fluency in both Spanish and English is highly valued and will be considered a significant asset.
