Position Overview

The Remote Customer Service Representative role is a full‑time, work‑from‑home position within arenaflex’s Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) division. You will be the first point of contact for members seeking assistance with prescription coverage, medication benefits, and mail‑order services. Your mission is to simplify complex health‑care information, resolve concerns with empathy, and ensure each member feels heard and supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls from members, addressing inquiries about prescription insurance, medication coverage, and mail‑order options.
  • Provide clear, concise explanations of benefit plans, helping members understand their coverage, copays, and formulary tiers.
  • Utilize arenaflex’s internal tools and databases to verify eligibility, process refills, and troubleshoot claim issues.
  • Document each interaction accurately in the CRM system, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and internal security standards.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved cases to senior specialists while maintaining ownership of the customer experience.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions, role‑plays, and knowledge‑share meetings to stay current on policy updates and industry trends.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce call handling time, and increase member satisfaction.
  • Adhere to scheduled work hours, which rotate between 6 am – 7 pm local time, to support business needs and provide coverage across multiple time zones.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑facing role (call center, retail, hospitality, or military service).
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based applications and the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a strong track record of reliability and punctuality.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, with a courteous telephone etiquette and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain patient, empathetic, and solution‑oriented during high‑volume call periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or related experience that showcases analytical or problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Experience navigating health‑care or insurance terminology, though not required.
  • Ability to articulate complex information in a patient, helpful manner that improves the member’s quality of life.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a talent for building rapport quickly over the phone.
  • Commitment to compliance with HIPAA, data security, and arenaflex’s internal policies.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Active Listening: Fully understand member concerns before responding.
  • Problem Solving: Identify root causes and provide actionable solutions.
  • Time Management: Balance multiple calls and tasks while meeting service level agreements.
  • Technical Aptitude: Navigate CRM, benefit portals, and prescription processing tools with ease.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Show genuine care, maintain composure, and adapt tone to each caller’s needs.
