About the Role

Our client, a reputable real estate investment firm with a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager for a hybrid role in Washington, D.C. . This position is integral to maximizing the value and financial performance of assigned assets. The role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively manage property operations, leasing strategies, financial reporting, and capital improvements. The hybrid model allows for essential on-site property engagement and client meetings, while providing the flexibility of remote work for analysis and administrative tasks. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of asset performance, ensuring alignment with investment strategies and stakeholder objectives. You will work closely with leasing teams, property managers, and finance departments to achieve optimal outcomes for each asset.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive asset management strategies to maximize property value and investment returns. Conduct detailed financial analysis, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance variance analysis for each asset. Oversee leasing activities, working with leasing teams to establish effective strategies and negotiate favorable lease terms. Manage capital improvement projects from planning through execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Monitor property operations, tenant satisfaction, and the performance of third-party property management. Prepare regular, detailed reports on asset performance, market conditions, and strategic recommendations for senior management and investors. Maintain strong relationships with tenants, brokers, lenders, and other stakeholders. Identify and implement strategies to enhance property operations, tenant retention, and overall asset value. Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, loan covenants, and company policies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate asset management, acquisitions, or a related finance role. Proven track record in managing and optimizing the performance of commercial real estate assets. Strong understanding of real estate finance, valuation, market analysis, and lease negotiation. Proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Argus, Excel) and property management systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site responsibilities with remote work flexibility. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail. Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration capabilities. Familiarity with the Washington, D.C. commercial real estate market is a significant advantage.
