Steam Turbine Steampath Engineer

GE Vernova is a leading company in the energy sector, seeking a Steam Turbine Steampath Engineer to support the design and analysis of steam turbine components. The role involves assisting in engineering assignments and contributing to the development of steampath solutions for various projects while working under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and in accordance with business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Assist in the development and delivery of steampath solutions for steam turbine applications, with guidance from more experienced engineers
  • Support Steam Turbine Conversion, Modification, and Upgrade (CM&U) delivery through engineering analysis and design of steampath components
  • Learn and apply steampath engineering principles to complete assigned work with quality and on-time delivery
  • Work with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders to support project execution and engineering decisions
  • Use analytical thinking and engineering fundamentals to solve straightforward technical problems with guidance
  • Build technical knowledge in steam turbine components, steampath design practices, and applicable engineering tools and methods
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve technical processes, documentation, and design practices
  • Document technical work, lessons learned, and engineering results clearly and accurately
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment through knowledge sharing, openness to feedback, and continuous learning

Skills

  • For roles outside of the USA: This role requires basic experience in Engineering/Technology and Mechanical Components. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • For roles in the USA: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Internship, co-op, research, or project experience related to steampath equipment, turbomachinery, thermal systems, or mechanical design is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn established engineering processes, tools, and standards
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute assigned tasks with guidance
  • Interest in steam turbines, steampath components, and power generation technology
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn from experienced engineers
