Associate Underwriter, Mid-Market (7-Month Contract)
Northbridge Financial Corporation is a leading commercial insurance provider in Canada, known for its strong relationships with brokers. They are seeking an Associate Underwriter to customize insurance solutions for Mid-Market clients, focusing on commercial underwriting and building strong broker relationships.
Responsibilities
- Customize solutions for commercial Mid-Market clients when they need insurance products
- Work closely with the extensive broker network to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers through emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings
- Collaborate with the team and receive coaching, mentoring, and development from experienced underwriters
Skills
- Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience
- Experience in the property and casualty industry an asset
- Working knowledge of underwriting manuals, policy contracts, rating programs, risk information sources, underwriting/technical manual information, statutory constraints, and computer workflow procedures
- Strong customer service background
- Actively pursuing CIP designation; considered an asset
- Commercial underwriting

- Customer service and relationship-building
