Starting Wage and Work Arrangement

The starting wage for this position is $15.50 per hour, with abundant opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and advance your career while working remotely. This role is fully remote; however, candidates must currently reside within the state of Maine to be considered.

Key Responsibilities of the Remote Customer Service Representative

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be the voice and heart of our brand. Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct Customer Engagement: Interact directly with pet parents who contact us for a wide variety of topics. You will help them shop for their new pet, assist in finding the perfect chew toy or cozy bed, troubleshoot issues with orders, and problem-solve when something does not go exactly as planned.
  • Research and Problem-Solving: Take ownership of customer inquiries by researching and identifying appropriate solutions. Think proactively, set timely follow-ups as needed, and ensure complete contact resolution that leaves every customer feeling valued and heard.
  • Active Listening and Empathy: Operate with deep understanding, utilizing active listening, patience, empathy, and kindness when engaging with both customers and fellow team members. Every conversation is an opportunity to make someone’s day better.

  • Bilingual Communication: Provide exceptional service in both Canadian French (Quebecois) and English, ensuring our French-speaking pet parents receive the same high-quality support as our English-speaking customers.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

To thrive in this role, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience: A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment such as retail, call center, e-commerce, or hospitality.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong active listening abilities. You will be required to complete a written assessment to demonstrate these skills.
  • Bilingual Fluency: Full fluency in both Canadian French (Quebecois) and English, with the ability to seamlessly switch between languages depending on the customer’s needs.
  • Multi-Tasking Ability: Proven ability to multi-task effectively, such as maintaining a phone conversation while navigating computer systems and taking accurate notes simultaneously.
  • Computer Proficiency: Strong proficiency in using computers for data entry, as well as the ability to rapidly navigate through systems, applications, and the internet to find information that helps support our customers.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to change with the evolving business needs of the company, embracing new tools, processes, and customer expectations as they arise.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to shift schedules and work overtime as needed to support business operations during peak seasons, holidays, or special promotions.
  • Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and securely handle sensitive customer information.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background Check: Must be able to successfully pass a background check.

Technical and Home Office Requirements

To succeed in this fully remote role, you will need to ensure your home office meets the following technical specifications:

  • Dedicated Work Area: Your work area must be large enough to accommodate computer monitors and free from distractions, including any background noise that could impact the customer experience.
  • Webcam-Ready Environment: Your work area must be acceptable and presentable for webcam use during virtual meetings and team collaborations.
  • High-Speed Internet: A reliable wired, high-speed broadband internet connection is required, with a minimum of 30 Mbps download speed and 10 Mbps upload speed. You can test your internet speed using tools like speedtest.net or by contacting your service provider. Applicants must meet and demonstrate this requirement.
  • Equipment Provided: arenaflex will provide you with a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, and webcam. You are responsible for providing your own high-speed internet connection.
  • Two-Factor Authentication: A traditional phone line is not required. However, you must have a cell phone or tablet that can be used for two-factor authentication through Okta Verify. Acceptable options include:
    • A smartphone or tablet on which the Okta mobile app can be downloaded.
    • A cell phone that can receive SMS messages and phone calls.
