[Remote] Product Engineer - Seat Complete

The Product Engineer II will manage the integration of seat components into a seat and vehicle system, utilizing engineering theory and manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer technical interface
  • Responsible for working with other cross functional teams to coordinate CAD, CAE, tooling, and design for manufacturing and assembly
  • Addresses problems using engineered solutions (FEA, DFM, DFMEA, design analysis, calculations, design review, etc.)
  • Ability to guide a team of supporting product engineers
  • Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to drive improvements

Skills

  • BSME/BSEE degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working with automotive OEM's, preferably in automotive seating
  • Demonstrated success with developing and launching seating programs from concept to launch
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Application of DFSS and Shanin techniques to root cause issues
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines
  • Ability to perform and/or manage complex design analysis tasks
  • Development of seat complete DVP&R
  • Lead interface with Stellantis customer engineering team, Lear plants, and Lear internal engineering teams, reporting to the Manager of Engineering-JIT
  • Design and integration and release of foam, trim, plastics, structures, and other non-JIT components into the final seat complete assembly
  • Ensures global best practices are being followed
  • Proficient in GD&T, DFSS, DFMEA, and DFA/DFM
  • Proficient in FMVSS and ECE specifications
  • Local, regional, and international travel required depending on program mix and time of development cycle
  • Advanced engineering, technical, or business degree preferred
  • Experience working for or with Ford or other NA OEMs
