As a Train Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains across our vast network. If you are a team player with a passion for the railroad industry, we want to hear from you! Ensure the safe and efficient movement of trains across the Union Pacific Railroad network. Make quick and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment to maintain train schedules and avoid delays. Monitor train movements and communicate with train crews and other personnel to ensure safe and timely operations. Utilize various computer systems and programs to track train locations, schedules, and updates. Coordinate with other departments and agencies to ensure smooth train operations. Maintain accurate records and documentation of train movements and incidents. Train and mentor new dispatchers to ensure a cohesive and competent team. Continuously monitor train traffic and adjust schedules as needed to optimize efficiency. Communicate with customers and stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns.
