Operational Data Analyst

Milestone Technologies is looking for a Operational Data Analyst with experience with master data, reference data, and data management. The role is part of a client's Business Intelligence organization and supports the company's logistics operational reporting needs. The position reports to the Sr. Business Analyst and involves studying logistics processes and connect data sources, cleansing existing data, studying processes to maintain data integrity, and data flow mapping. This role will dive deep into the data and be a operational data SME.

• Support a strong logistical operational reporting of global client systems and processes involving all aspects of information management and technology for the organization
• Implement controls and processes to mitigate data quality risks including monitoring data quality results, reports, and dashboards

​• Ensure timely dashboard refreshes and troubleshoot performance issues ​• Implement minor modifications and logic updates in existing dashboards and queries. ​• Extract and analyze data manually when automation is unavailable ​• Support data visualization needs by designing and maintaining dynamic Tableau dashboards with best practices in UX and performance optimization ​• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and enhance automation ​• Generate monthly reports and ad-hoc analyses to support leadership decision-making ​• Work with diverse data sources, including SQL, Excel, Anaplan, and internal forecasting tools to build accurate and insightful reports ​• Assist with major data and organizational changes that impact reporting structures

• Responsible for assuring quality and trust in the data, supporting standard definitions for the organization to follow, and maintaining consistent use of data resources across the organization
• Maintain and optimizeTableau Prep Flows, SSIS Flows, and Python scriptsfor data processing

Skills

• 2-4 years of experience in operational data analytics and visualization
• Proficiency in Tableau (Desktop, Server, and Prep), MS Excel, and SQL (Oracle, Hive, MySQL )
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
• Familiarity with Python, R, or SAS for data analysis and automation
• Experience with Tableau Server administration and performance tuning
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Knowledge of best practices for data visualization and dashboard performance optimization
• Experience working with multiple data sources and integrating financial & operational datasets
