Job title: Legal Administrative Assistant - Litigation in Los Angeles, CA at Gateway Recruiting Company: Gateway Recruiting Job description: Under the leadership of the Senior Manager of Legal Support Services, this position will be the vital link between litigation attorneys, clients, and the support staff of the Firm. This role will craft legal documents, engage with clients, and maintain seamless collaboration across the office, ensuring deadlines are met and confidentiality is upheld. This position requires an ability to work with legal documents and familiarity with State, Federal and Appellate filings, including knowledge of, or ability to learn E-Filing. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports multiple attorneys in litigation legal support teams in the preparation of client legal documents.
  • Plans, produces, edits and formats correspondence, memoranda, pleadings, reports and other legal documents in a timely manner while utilizing computer, transcription equipment and other office equipment.
  • Electronically files pleadings and related exhibits in State, Federal and Appellate courts.
  • Establishes and maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems, utilizing Firm’s centralized docketing and calendar system.
  • Manages attorney calendars, schedules appointments and coordinates travel arrangements.
  • Collaborates with administrative support staff (document production, receptionists, business office, etc.) to include processing client billing and proofing documents returned from document production.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • An Associate’s Degree is preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of litigation legal experience required; three (3) to five (5) years preferred.
