About the Role:The cloud platform enables low-latency, high throughput and critical workflows that power Confluent Cloud. This platform enables end to end management, monitoring, elasticity, security and orchestration of the entire cloud ecosystem. We are looking for a senior leader to build the global and regional control plane for all of Confluent. This is a critical piece of the architecture which helps manage the product metadata, orchestration, and inter-product workflows. The team builds high scale resource management and data management services. In this role, we are excited for you to drive the vision, lay the roadmap, and build out a high-performing engineering organization.
What You Will Do:Build global and regional control planes to help scale Confluent Cloud into the new era of streaming data services.
Uplevel and overhaul operational posture and excellence of the cloud infrastructure to support 10x scale.
Build data management and orchestration technology that can operate and scale across top three cloud providers - AWS, Azure, GCP.
Design automations, platforms, best practices and tools to enable disaster recovery of data stores, stateful systems and stateless systems
Partner with senior leadership in R&D to drive cultural, technical, people and process improvements in a growing organization.
10+ years of engineering management experience leading productive, collaborative, high-functioning teams in a cloud environment.
5+ years developing cloud native infrastructure software at global scale.
Experience building, managing and running large scale distributed databases and data systems in the cloud.
Demonstrated experience in effectively influencing and working with the exec team using effective communication and collaborative techniques.
