We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teaching Assistant/Paraprofessional to join our team at DuPage Regional Office of Education. As a vital member of our special education staff, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse needs and abilities. About the Role:

  • Assist special education staff in meeting the instructional and functional needs of assigned students
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, case managers, and related service providers to ensure student progress and success
  • Participate in team meetings to share progress, problem-solve, and develop strategies to support student learning
  • Complete record-keeping, collect data, and perform clerical functions to support teachers and ensure up-to-date reference documents

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Competitive salary: $18.50 per hour
  • No-cost single and family health insurance plans available, or an additional $5,000 annual cash payment if covered under another employer-sponsored plan

Requirements and Skills:

  • Paraprofessional Certification required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff
  • Physical demands: frequent standing, walking, sitting, and lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent computer work and exposure to various noise levels
