We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Social Media Coordinator with the Digital Department. This position will be responsible for managing social pages, facilitating game coverage, developing new content tactics, and growing engagement across Phoenix Mercury social channels. Suns Legacy Partners (SLP) strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many departments, many SLP employees participate in the SLP Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona. What Will You Do

  • Cultivate fan engagement, plan, and craft social media posts/campaigns, and optimize campaign performance across Phoenix Mercury social channels.
  • Build and maintain a daily, weekly, and monthly social media calendar for both organic and branded content.
  • Lead community management across social channels with fans, players, ect.
  • Leverage trending topics and conversations in real-time to capitalize on content opportunities to amplify the voice of Phoenix Mercury
  • Support the development of a Phoenix Mercury influencer program.
  • Perform social media tasks on game days by cutting broadcast clips and posting across social media channels in real time.
  • Quickly recognize and react to trends to grow the Phoenix Mercury TikTok account.
  • Collaborate with Manager of Brand Strategy and Content on growth strategies to reach core social media KPIs.
  • Support the Partnerships team with planning and coordination of partner activations, such as digital and social deliverables, branded content, and video series.

  • A passion for women in sports, WNBA and basketball.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to develop relationships.
  • Possess a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
  • A passion for social media strategy and community building online.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, evening, weekends, holidays.

Experience/ Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • 1+ years of experience managing social brand, voice, strategy.
  • Experience supporting social strategies across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, and other emerging platforms.
  • Subject matter expert on social media platforms, with the ability to educate various internal departments on the ever-changing world of social trends and culture.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite/Premiere (preferred)
  • Experienced content creator, shooter, and editor to execute content in real time across multiple platforms (preferred)
