Outpatient and Inpatient Coder - Pyramid Consulting, Inc.

Pay Range: $35 - $37/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Location Remote (Hawaii-based candidates preferred).
• Schedule Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM HST.
• Day-to-day Responsible for complete inpatient or outpatient coding of hospital encounters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and E/M guidelines.
• Will review provider documentation, assign appropriate codes, and collaborate with physicians and coders to clarify information.
• Expected to code cases from scratch (not just edits) and meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience

• Experience Minimum 1+ years of inpatient or outpatient hospital coding experience.
• Disqualifiers Candidates with only edit-review experience or who cannot code from scratch.
• Tools Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, or equivalent).
• License/Certification Valid CCA or CCS certification from AHIMA or AAPC required.
