About you

  • Experienced in taking wearable or head-worn devices from concept through at least small-volume manufacturing.

  • Skilled in mechanism design and integration of structural, optical, and electronic subsystems.

  • Proficient in parametric 3D CAD and rapid prototyping techniques (CNC, additive, soft tooling, quick-turn molding).

  • Comfortable working with both rigid and soft/flexible materials such as silicone, TPU, textiles, and foams.

  • Strong understanding of ergonomic principles and anthropometry

  • Hands-on approach to prototyping, testing, and refining designs based on real-world performance.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proven track record designing and delivering wearable, head-worn, or compact consumer/medical products.

  • Expertise in materials and manufacturing processes including injection molding, CNC machining, and PCBA integration.

  • Experience driving the full product lifecycle — concept, prototyping, validation, and production.

  • Knowledge of DFx methodologies and data-driven design iteration.

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with FEA/CFD simulations for structural, thermal, or motion analysis.

  • Experience with anthropometric modeling and use of digital headforms

  • Vendor management experience for tooling, pilot builds, and small-volume manufacturing.

  • Mentorship or technical leadership in mechanical design projects.
