Take Flight With Your Career — Join arenaflex Credit Union as a Remote Member Services Representative

Imagine a career where every single day brings something new, where your attention to detail fuels the financial well-being of thousands of members, and where your work-from-home setup is backed by one of the most recognized names in American financial services. At arenaflex, we believe that the right job shouldn't ask you to choose between a fulfilling career and a fulfilling life. That's why we're searching for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Member Services Representative to join our Payments and Digital Strategy team within the arenaflex Credit Union.

This isn't just another remote customer service role. This is your opportunity to become a vital part of a financially inclusive organization that serves the employees, families, and retirees connected to arenaflex. You'll be working behind the scenes on the transactions, technology, and compliance work that keeps a major credit union running smoothly — processing payments, balancing ledgers, supporting fraud resolution, and helping members around the world move money with confidence. If you love numbers, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to make a real difference for members every single day, then keep reading. Your runway starts here.

About the Role and the Team You'll Join

The Member Services Representative position is a core operational role within the Payments and Digital Strategy crew of the arenaflex Credit Union. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day functions that power our members' financial lives — from check processing and item processing to direct bill payments and fund transfers, both domestic and international. In this role, no two days will look exactly alike. One day you may be coordinating returned items with members, door vendors, and the Federal Reserve Bank; the next, you might be assisting another department with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing.

You will be entrusted with member cases and assigned sports (special tasks and projects), and you will be expected to follow and maintain strict guidelines to ensure full compliance with NACHA regulations, Federal Banking laws, and the Bank Secrecy Act. Security, confidentiality, and accuracy aren't optional in this role — they are the foundation of everything we do. The right candidate will embrace this responsibility with integrity, professionalism, and a member-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

As a Member Services Representative at arenaflex, your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Entry and Balancing: Completing accurate and timely data entry functions while performing daily balancing activities and end-of-department closing procedures.
  • Check and Payment Processing: Processing loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and various other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks.
  • Return Item Coordination: Coordinating returned items with members, door vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other partner institutions to ensure timely resolution.
  • Digital Channel Review: Reviewing, examining, and approving Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other image-enabled products to ensure they meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Account Adjustments: Logging, studying, and making necessary General Ledger (GL), account changes, and/or returns in the core banking system.
  • Stop Pays and Check Batching: Processing stop-payment requests and batching checks accurately and efficiently.
  • Wire and Fund Transfers: Obtaining the necessary information from members for timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests, and verifying incoming and outgoing wire data.
  • Vendor Communication: Communicating with vendors to process fund transfers, and understanding and being familiar with the laws governing both outgoing and incoming wire transfers.
  • Returned Check Research: Depositing check returns, researching member returned checks on draft changes, processing member checks, and verifying members for outgoing fund transfers, including Federal Reserve verification and fund release.
  • Specialty Workflows: Completing daily processing of workflows related to late returns, receipt of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Assisting other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and associated accounting standard ledger balancing activities.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensuring the security and confidentiality of all accounts and related data encountered in the course of work, and ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum education and prior job experience requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly preferred and will help set you apart from other candidates:

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous customer service or member service experience in a professional setting.
  • Banking or Credit Union Experience: Prior experience working in a bank or credit union environment is highly desirable.
  • Core Systems Experience: Hands-on experience with Episys/Symitar core processing systems and wire processing platforms.

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate a blend of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a service-oriented attitude. Specifically, we're looking for individuals who possess:

  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), whether gained through work experience, formal training, or hands-on use.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs, including peak periods and special projects.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Outstanding customer service skills and a genuine passion for helping members.
  • Multitasking Ability: Capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and function as an integral part of a collaborative team.
  • Mathematical and Analytical Skills: Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and analyze data to identify discrepancies or trends.
  • Time Management: Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure.
  • Cross-Training Mindset: Willingness to cross-train and perform any role assigned within the department as business needs dictate.
  • Professional Communication: Ability to interact professionally with all personnel, members, vendors, and external partners.
  • Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while staying connected to team goals.
  • Self-Motivation and Organization: Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and a sharp attention to detail.
  • Consistent Performance: Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance records.
  • Pre-Employment Compliance: Must pass all relevant arenaflex and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks and background screenings.
